    Im looking at reducing one of your 100cm rails to 90cm. From watching this i assume i cant push my original plug deeper into the barrel before cutting it shorter? We have propper hydraulic press at work for bearings that i could use. I was worried about the barrel exploding.. 😂 If not how do i get a new plug in the uk? Thanks Rob

    Assuming it is intended for bluewater use, Why not, 3*14 on 340-350% or 3 *16 mm 300% with an 8 mm shaft. No one is going to use 3 rubbers speargun for reef that two 14 mms can do with equal results. Btw, what a beautiful muzzle though ,❤👍👍 go buy a 120 cm carbon barreled RA speargun with that muzzle and two Shafts, a7 mm and an 8mms, 3x14 mm rubber, you'll get yourself a speargun for almost every occasion.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing 2 дні тому

      You will be supersized just how many requests we have had for this 3 rubber muzzle with 12mm rubbers. There are many youngsters, some ladies and persons with shoulder issues who can't even load a 14mm rubber but can load a 12mm. The 12mm works fine on our standard guns up to a 7,5mm spear. The 8mm in our opinion is just too heavy and creates way too much recoil. The weight of an 8mm works best on a Timberline gun. Also, our ability to add buoyancy with the Timberline barrel helps massively to compensate for the 8mm spears mass. We have done test on all set ups and have no problem using 3 x 14mm on the Timberline with an 8mm spear.

      @@RobAllenSpearfishing That's a fair assesment 🫡👍👍, people really do wants different things from this muzzle. Some saw it as a way to help them ease their loading efforts. But to some, like me, adding this bad boy to a timberline gun might persuade me to buy one of the timberline series. I'm sorry Rob, but the timberline series are just too pricy for me 😂😅✌️✌️. I understand the added buoyancy and strength to that barrel, but to add a roller muzzle to that barrel seems redundant, why add something that already have little to no recoil to a timber-fortified carbon barrel? And why only stop at two rubber muzzle, even when we know that narrel can handle more power and recoil. This three banded muzzle is just what the timberline series needed. The possibilities of adjusting your setup to your environment without changing your muzzle is really impressive. No disrespect tho, just sharing my frustation😁

    Great videos. I think the simplicity of the knot has to be considered, at least for me. Maybe I’m not good with knots. I’ve found the bowline to be good although according to this video maybe it will be good to burn a slightly larger “bulb” at the end to stop is from slipping in extreme cases

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing 5 днів тому

      I'd be a bit reluctant to trust a "bulb" to a big fish. Not sure how much tension it would take to pop off. The heat damages the line strength.

    You mention a “from the hip” shot in the video. We’ve had a lot of poor viz this year and I find myself needing to take these shots too. Is it normal to miss some very easy shots using this method? I hit my fair share too I just find it much more unpredictable and wondered if you had any hip shot aiming tips, or if it’s just a feel you need to develop.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing

    I do not think that in this particular case the "jumping muzzle" for the alu spear gun has much to do with weight distribution. The alu stock is less rigid than the carbon one. When under tension, the alu stock is bent. When released, the muzzle is jumping, first down and then up - in the slow mo it is obvious. The carbon stock is more rigid and does not bend as mush under same tension; therefore it jumps less.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing 8 днів тому

      It is possible the different barrel flex plays a small part but, I'm positive the weight has the majority of the effect. It will be easy to compare, one day we will do the same test but with no lead in the carbon barrel.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing 14 днів тому

      Agreed. We do offer a 7mm with a 14mm band. You can also use a 6,6mm shaft with a 12mm band. You do need to be mindful and match the band to the shaft mass.

    I just wonder if this dyneema hanging from the barb creates additional drag and makes shots inaccurate? I just don't like this idea of free hanging dyneema. Do you make threaded shafts for a slip tip? And why not slip tip? Why this set up is better?

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing 22 дні тому

      The moment you fire, the O ring slips down and the Dyneema lays parallel with the spear shaft. This all happens before the spear is out the barrel. Dyneema is softer than cable on a slip tip so should impart less drag. Also, the actual barb is a much lower profile than that of a slip tip and, possible even lower profile than that of a barb considering the fact it is mostly recessed into the spear. We have now sold several thousand of these and no one complains about penetration or spear speed.

    • @Beyondthebreakers

      @@RobAllenSpearfishing thanks. I've been using traditional spearguns for around two years. Amero Hatch 55" with two 16 bands is my to go speargun. However, I recently went to a blue water trip and bought 60" the same brand speargun with three bands and slip tip. I was missed a lot with this speargun, much more than I would with my 55" and two bands. Recoil was just too strong and I think this affected the accuracy. So, I bought RA tuna Roller 120 for blue water and now want to buy dropping bard spear because I hate slip tip as well for many reasons. Do you have a good post-market reports on this set up? Any issues I should be aware? Does the rubber ring survive for a while? Thanks!

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing 26 днів тому

      Hi Terry, we don't give an open warranty, we take each claim and check it over. If it is clearly abuse, no warranty. If we can see a possible factory fault like de-lamination, it will be honored. Just be aware it is a high end product and should not be used like an old plastic fin blade. Shore diving is possible but try not to stress them too much when entering and leaving the surf. Try not kick of the bottom or, jump off rocks into the sea. You will find the performance easily out ways the need to be a little careful when using them.

      @@ruitian8724 Hi Terry, sorry your reply ended up in spam, just fished it out now. Yes a carbon blade can be rolled into an O but.... it is not about doing a slow bend but more about shock loads. Carbon is a lot more brittle, pros and cons re this. A "lifetime warranty" is subject to close scrutiny from us. If the blade comes in with many scratches and chips, I doubt we would be replacing. As mentioned above, we will investigate any claims to make sure they are genuine or not. You would be surprised as to what we sometimes see. Hence our need to inspect the product closely.

    Hi Mr Rob, when selecting the stiffness according to the weight, shall we count in the weight of the weight belt or just boday weight? Regards Terry

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing 29 днів тому

      We suggest the stiffness by weight with an average weight belt but, recently my business partner notices that his fins that work fine when he is weighted for a 3mm suit, felt too sort for his new 5mm as he had to add more weight. Also, he dives shallower with the 5mm suit so adds an extra weight to help stay down. For this type of diving he now has a stiffer fin. So, yes that variable can make a difference. Most will therefore just go with a stiffer fin for both suit and belt set ups. There is also a variable in what fish you hunt, deep diving for slow reef fish, use a softer fin. Bomb diving on game fish (I prefer doing) use a stiffer fin, each to his own. This is not an exact science 😜👍
